If chronic diseases were genetic in origin, he argues, “A disease-causing gene that reduces survival and reproduction would normally eliminate itself over a number of generations.” He contends that the thinking underlying today’s “Human Genome Mania” often violates the fundamental principle of biology, Darwin’s Theory of Natural Selection.

Dancing plant high DMT levels?

This is not a time lapse clip.

In fact i came across this article about a dancing plant when googleing on the terms “dmt” in combination with “Darwin”. This search was sparked of by the minicry article from some weeks ago.

The article tells a story of the Thai botanist who found an elusive specimen of this plant in the jungle.

*edit- forgot to mention it actually moves to sounds ^_^*

Tilt/Shift

A contact on my Flickr uploaded a few pics using the tilt/shift lens technique. I really like it, although I do not have a true digital SLR. I do have a 35mm film SLR that I could try to use. A homemade tilt shift lens can be made, but the real ones look nice!

How to get rid of Snap’s link previews

Hello all,

To me it seems wordpress is connected to this spa.snap service. But whatever the case is I find it disrupting. So i lost it by blocking it via Firefox. There are more ways to lose these big popup-like previews generated by spa.snap for example found here.

From whatever side one approaches things, the ultimate problem turns out in the final analysis to be that of distinction: distinctions between the real and the imaginary, between waking and sleeping, between ignorance and knowledge, etc. — all of them, in short, distinctions in which valid consideration must demonstrate a keen awareness and the demand for resolution. Among distinctions, there is assuredly none more clear-cut than that between the organism and its surroundings; at least there is none in which the tangible experience of separation is more immediate. So it is worthwhile to observe the phenomenon with particular attention and, within the phenomenon, what is even more necessary, given the present state of our knowledge, is to consider its condition as pathology (the word here having only a statistical meaning)–i.e., all the facts that come under the heading of mimicry.

What is the big idea?

Ello all ^_^

So in a chat it rised… this blog to have an idea behind it… a frame apart from the restriction of this beeing a blog and the richness of our bunch… a stated common direction perhaps.

I find the idea of a blog being more then a backdrop and gathering/meeting place interesting. But what is the big idea? Does anyone have such idea? Or is the common direction now to work towards finding out what our common direction is?
